I'm giving some lectures on motion perception. I've done some appropriate animations in AE, going up to 1080/60p. Clearly I need them to play back at full speed with minimal artifacts. I did this a while back and an i3 based computer stuttered a bit even playing the files from an SSD. I'm using CS6 on a MacPro but I don't want to cart a lump like that to the lecture venue. I'll be using a large HDMI connected TV, but I have an SDI converter.
I have access to Sony F55 cameras so I thought I could encode to an SxS card in XAVC and play it on the camera. However - I cannot find a codec for this. I only have CS3 on a PC. I could encode to XDCam but that only goes to 60i.
I then thought I could find something else that could play (say) ProRes422. I have access to Sound Devices Pix240 which would do this but apparently it will not work if you don't record in the unit.
We've just bought a batch of the latest MacBook Pros, would they play 1080/60p on ProRes422 at full speed to the Thunderbolt port? Presumably 'Keynote' would allow me to present my animation collection as required?
Any thoughts from the vast experience on this Forum would be much appreciated!
