Apparently no 60p with DVCProHD 1080; however you can do it at 720.

So… how about Motion-JPEG?

Does DVCProHD go to 60p? XAVC is effectively Sony's version of AVC-Intra but they don't seem to have an encode version for the Mac.

You can step through Long-GOP.  It just takes more CPU.

But, given your concerns, have you considered AVC-Intra?  DVCProHD?

Thanks guys. I'd prefer an intraframe codec so that I can step through the frames. Any more ideas?

Why not choose H.264 (.mp4) with a high bit rate?

I have access to Sony F55 cameras so I thought I could encode to an SxS card in XAVC and play it on the camera. However - I cannot find a codec for this. I only have CS3 on a PC. I could encode to XDCam but that only goes to 60i.
I then thought I could find something else that could play (say) ProRes422.
