| I've been using the AJA Data Rate calculator. Testing is, as you say, essential. A question that came up a while ago was how devices handle different frame rates. At the time, I was curious about how a high end projector, in this case a Christie, would deal with switching between 23.98 and 29,97. To my eye, there was no problem at all but it was good to hear from a Christie tech that the projector would faithfully play whatever rate was thrown at it. Higher frame rates required special modules, however, so when The Hobbit came out at 48 fps and when James Cameron was experimenting with 60 fps, the projector needed an upgrade. All of which is to ask, is the TV in Perry's post capable of playing a true 60 fps? I kind of doubt it. And a related question – Isn't 60i another way of saying 30 fps interlaced?
