I think I know the answer, but just in case there's a trick of which I'm not aware…
When I apply a Gradient Overlay to paragraph text or line text with returns that create a paragraph, gradient overlays fills the entire text block, not each line.
IOW, the default is for the gradient is to extend from the top of the top line to the bottom of the bottom line in a paragraph.
If I want to apply the same gradient to each line of paragraph text, is that not possible without breaking the lines up into their own layers?
We can do this easily in the Premiere Pro titler, as gradients are applied on a per character basis.
