It's not really pertinent anymore, unless you work for a tv station. 90% of my work goes on air, and is generally mastered at 1080/23.98. Sometimes we add pulldown, and sometimes DG does. I do not miss interlacing and field order issues AT ALL.
Funnily enough, many tv stations don't have a way of QC'ing interlaced material anymore. It's why you sometimes see stuff air with reversed fields - something that would've gotten me fired early in my career now warrants indifference. Kinda sad.
