Yes, I did. But maybe I can shake the tree some more to see if I can get it back to where it was. Is there any renewable AE pref, ini, or cache I should try deleting ?

at first AE recognized the card but GPU Ray-tracing was disabled. So I just updated the NVIDIA driver to the latest and now it doesn't seem to recognize the card at all... see screengrabs of the AE GPU Info window before and after here ;
