I use the link going both directions. Ae is not suited for audio work, = but Pr is pretty darn good (Still needs a few improvements.). =20 I do my soundtrack work in Pr, and bring the Sequence into Ae, and do my = moGFX with the sound track as timing reference. Once I have my effect = work done, I can link my effects back to the Pr Sequence that contained = my audio work, and render from Pr, using Pr or AME. This will work, IF you delete the dynamically linked audio layer in your = Ae Comps before linking them back to their Pr origin. Otherwise, you'd = create an infinite loop in the space-time continuum, imploding the = universe. For most editing duties, I use Pr with the "Replace with After Effects = Composition" feature for shots that need compositing, more sophisticated = masking, color correction or other features than Pr allows. =20 I like that any changes you make in the Ae Comps are updated in Pr; you = don't even have to save the Ae project; they just translate over once = you switch to Pr as the FG app. Pr and Ae CC now function as more or less a single app where you switch = workspaces.
