You mean to tell me I'm the only one who uses CC raytracing? ha. It met a lot of criteria for the project and it's working out quite well.

On another note has anyone tried atomkraft 3D for AE? how is the usability?

Something I'm actually enjoying about the AE raytrace engine is the lack of options. I know that sounds crazy, but the limitations make it much faster to work with, interface and workflow wise. As well, the viewport quality is quite good and refreshes fast. I still have no idea what I'm going to do to make post tweaks with filters though. Looking like I'll have to render it all out to do the compositing. Kind of a bummer.

So most features like color correction, mattes and fx are not fully supported by the raytraced 3D engine. What is the workflow to add a glow to an extruded object for example? I'm hoping it's not something like creating a matte for each individual object and exporting it separately, then reimporting it into a standard 3D comp. I could render every element separately for compositing but that's hours of work I don't have. I haven't used the RT engine much, so I'm hoping there's an easier solution. I could fake a glow with physical lights but then my render times go up.
