Yep, it works in CC.
If you're going to be syncing projects with a lot of comps, I recommend either closing your composition window or opening a comp unrelated to the sync. This way After Effects won't update every time a comp or file is updated.

Project Sync is definitely what I was thinking.
Is it compatible with CC? Doesn't say so on the page.

You can break up existing projects by selecting a composition and clicking a button. Project Sync will will save out a copy of the comp as a new project, which you can then hand off to someone else. It also comes bundled with an application that will provide you with a notification when a file has been updated.

Hey all,
I recall there being some sort of beta test or something in month's past where the product they were testing basically allowed for multiple users of AE to work together better.
Specifically, I recall it allowing one user to import a project, and another user could open that project asset, make changes, and the original person would be able to see those changes updated. sort of like Live-update, but with full projects that are imported.
Am I crazy? or is this feature something that can be done. Would be great to partition out my project to have the framework be in the big ending/render comp, and then have multiple content comps that I could bring in once, and not worry about which revision the final comp was using, because they would always be up to date.
