| My SSD is in an ICY DOCK adapter, so it'll fit in a slot for a 3.5" drive. I removed it from the MacPro sled, and plugged it into my SATA to FW adaptor, and tried mounting it on my laptop and my desktop. The disk still didn't show up on the desktop or through any of my utilities on either computer. So, I took the SSD out of the ICY DOCK, and mounted it in my SATA to FW adaptor. It still doesn't mount, so I presume the SSD had a massive failure. I'm wondering if that's normal behavior for a bad SSD: to just stop working or showing up anywhere. I thought all drives had some firmware that at least would provide some manufacturing data that would show up in System Info/Profiler. It's no more than two months old. This was an OWC SSD, supposedly the most reliable brand available, according to OWC. Well, at least it's in warranty.
