You can experiment with two effects - 'advanced lightn= ing' for creating branched delta and fractal noise on that with some co= lor correction to make that delta look like a lava

Thanks, Blazej, that's a clever wor= karound. =A0Turns out that will work fine for the single "river of fir= e" I'm trying to create, but I'm curious if that could be done= if I wanted to show a fire river that had several branches. =A0Probably wo= uld get a bit challenging, especially if it looked like the Mississippi del= ta. =A0I guess something like Particular would be necessary for that.

Again, thanks! =A0I really hate popping for more software wh= en I don't have a lot of use for it. =A0Do other AE users think Trapcod= e Particular is really worth it? =A0Is it that much more versatile than AE= =A0
particles.

Just create straight path of fire using particle playground, precomp= , and distort with puppet tool?

Anyone kno= w if there is a way to have particles follow a path in After Effects WITHOU= T using a plug in like Particular?

I want to create a river of fire = that spreads along a specific path. =A0The fire part is easy enough in AE b= ut now want it to go exactly where I need it go.

Pete
