It has to work in an automatic way on a render farm without any manual steps involved. Currently we use a script that creates a comp of the desired size, inserts the original comp as a layer and scales it down. But when we render this comp it takes as long as rendering the original comp in full resolution. When doing it manually, I can go to composition settings and set the resolution to a custom value to render only every third pixel, for example, which renders much faster. But it looks like the scripting API has no access to this. Any ideas?
