I think = it=92s mainly because AE doesn=92t allow you to nest a group of panels = within a single collapsible panel, which results in necessarily crazy = tiled workspaces like many of the examples posted in this thread. Generally, I don=92t want/need to see all of my ScriptUI panels all the = time, while I=92m working. It=92s distracting, and is a huge waste of = screen real-estate. To use Zack=92s layout example, I wish there was a = way that you could contain all of the panels on the right-hand side of = his layout, so that you could toggle the appearance of the entire group = of panels with a single click (or even better, a user-defined keyboard = shortcut!). In a way, this hearkens back to the = "connected-but-collapsible=94 inspector palette UI paradigm that = Macromedia used in the old MX apps, back in the day.
