Todd, I am starting with the presets in AME, and checking them against the specs YouTube posted.
What I'm curious to learn is whether YouTube recompresses everything, in which case it would seem to make sense to only upload very lightly compressed movies.
I'm wondering if there's a threshold setting where they use my encodes, and don't re-encode.
Presets are for Motion users. (-; Any reason that you’re not just using the encoding presets in Adobe Media Encoder? We set those in close collaboration with our colleagues at YouTube/Google. If they deviate at all from what Google is currently suggesting, it can only be because they changed their minds.
