seriously.... $100 1tb USB hard drive. next question... maybe get a 3.0 =
adapter for faster access. ok power it up often enough. I've had drives =
sit for quite a while and work fine. I use ChronoSync to match up local =
storage to back up drives rather painlessly. Time Machine can also work =
ok for some projects.

there is nothing economical about LTO despite claims when you compare =
either bare drives + eSATA dock or simple USB3 external drives.

don't every think of optical media as stable, not the recordable kind. I =
had over 100 DVD-R's go bad due to very low light level exposure. Bad =
batch... thankfully what I lost doesn't matter and I had backups on... =
hard drives !
