I just tried to create two layers with the same name (say "Test") but AE disallows it and automatically renames the second one "Test 2". Even if I try to explicitly rename it to "Test" again.

Why is this and is there any way to avoid this behavior? With CS6 it works fine.

I did some scripts for a client that need some layers have the same name.
