Hi everyone,

Can anyone point me to a good example of a video where the editor uses cross dissolves on a series of "character poses" in order to make the character come to life? I'm working with "isolated" people (backgrounds removed) for an eLearning project. Some characters have associated brief video clips with them, say, actively pointing off to the side, but most characters only have still images. Just doing a "jump cut" with the still characters is getting old.

I remember a number of years back there was a FastSign commercial on television that used this technique using cross dissolves, but I can't find it anywhere on their YouTube channel. I am hoping to create more movement within my project using dissolves and some cuts, but don't want to call too much attention to the transitions (which I think was the case in the commercial but I could be wrong) because I don't want to take away from the scenario and the actual eLearning content.

My projects are created in Captivate, and I dearly miss the keyframing and precision control. Since I’m only exporting video from Captivate anyway, I can move to Premiere or, if one can suggest a better effect to use within it, AE.

I hope I explained my situation correctly. Any tips, examples, techniques, etc. would be appreciated. Thank you,

Mary Anne
