Yes, I've noticed it many times before; I didn't notice it this time.
 
Why isn't Flash installed transparently, with the Cloud?

There is a box to uncheck on the download page.
I learned after I had to do an uninstall on The McAfee.

Java (Sun) does the same thing and actually numerous other apps. I agree, it’s a sucky practice.

I know this isn't an AE post but I don't subscribe to any Flash lists.
 
So, the latest Flashupdate installed MacAfee Scan Plus (or some such), and I did not even notice an option to opt out. This is bad practice, Adobe (waggles finger).
