Sometimes us freelancers have that extra challenge of having to be our own IT department, no? (Not to mention billing and accounting, client relations, sales, legal, marketing and social media, etc., etc.)
On my 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina (running Mac OS X 10.8.5), CS6 and CC are working as expected. So, you're probably in good shape for when you get your laptop.
On my 27-inch iMac (early 2010 running Mac OS X 10.7.5), I've spent a lot more time troubleshooting CC that I'd like (especially since CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 have all be easy installs and updates through the years).
If you'd like to email me off list, we can compare notes to see if what I tried works in your situation as well.
