Hey Rachel,
Thanks for reaching out. I would try FreeForm Pro first. You can do character animation with both of course but with FreeForm Pro the set up is easier and the rendering is much, much faster. If your system can support FreeForm Pro then I would definitely opt for that if your system can handle it. Ultimately, you really should try both before deciding.
