You could use another instance of your particular with the velocity set to zero and that should draw a stroke for you.

I have created a 3D Null 1 in the center of a comp and animated its Y
rotation.
Created 3D Null 2, offset its X position, parented it to Null 1, then
animated its X and Y position so that it traces a 3D spiral as it
rotates with its parent.
I have expressions tying a Particular emitter to the resulting X,Y,Z
positions of Null 2.

Now I want the same position data to trace a path for 3D stroke.  How do
I do that?
