Subject: No shadows when approximating Custom View 1

Hi,

I wanted to render the actual ‘Custom View 1’, so I Googled it and found this helpful suggestion in an Adobe forum:

“Add a new camera to your scene setting the focal length to 10000mm. Add a 3D null to your scene. Make the null the parent of the camera. Rotate the null to x 45º, y 35º and Z 31º and you'll have a fairly good approximation of the default Custom View 1.â€

This looks pretty close so I would like to use it, however all my shadows are no longer visible (compared to the real Custom View 1 ortho view.

Any suggestion why and how I can fix this? I tried moving around the light but no success.

Also, why not allow AE to render out a custom view as a setting and not only active camera?

If there is an alternative way than the above, that would also be of interest.

Thanks,

Anders
