You can also just use the beam effect which is built into AE.

Just pickwhip the start and end locations to your tracker attach points and you are done.

I need to apply a motion track to both ends of a basic 2-point path on a shape layer (or a mask would work too I guess)
 
I have a text layer motion tracked to one area of the BG plate and I need to track one end of the path to the same area, and the other end of the path to another area. So the path is locked to two separate points of the footage and moving smoothly and fluidly.
 
I looked at Plexus but that seems like way more tool than I need. Is there simpler (scripty/expressiony) way to achieve this?
