Yeah for sure. Beside the creative, the biggest dilemma for me starting each project is to precomp or not to precomp. For some reason half way into the project it usually feels like I made the wrong choice. Would love to have the best of both worlds. Or a bigger monitor to keep 2 linked comp windows open full size all the time

As the subject line says, I'm trying to add a track matte to a text layer in 3D space. For some reason this is not working for me. The matte layer is a basic solid with a mask applied. Tried both 2D and 3D matte. Seems a basic enough operation but clearly I'm missing something.
Any ideas why this is not possible?
