Todd,Â
You said on the topic thread, this comment yesterday..Â
"Our current target is to release a bug-fix update by the end of January, if all goes well. This update will include more than just this single fix."
I'm happy to hear that this bug has been taken care of, but is there any way to just include this bug fix as an emergency "patch" instead of an incremental update to attack other bugs at the same time? Â I figured with the release of CC, we'd get this sort of "immediate response" for something like this, instead of having to push it through QA testing over and over for multiple bugs at once, each one can just be hammered out as it's found? Â What's the "Adobe Way" on something like this?
For instance.. in the video-game world, some developers can respond immediately with update patches if there's a game-breaking bug in their code.. Â especially if they have their own distribution channel and don't rely on patch certification from 3rd party vendors like Xbox/Microsoft for instance.
If this were an issue that had no "work-around" would we still be waiting til end of January to see it tackled?
Not sure if true or not, but one user mentioned "I lost my job because of this bug". Â I would hope they were just being extreme about the situation and they're feelings about the response time.. but still.. If someone didn't have access to the knowledge, and was trying to complete a project in time for a deadline, offline, or without adequate time to search the issue.. It could be a big problem for some..Â
What are your / Adobe's thoughts / procedures for this sort of thing?
Thanks,
