Chris Z: thanks. yes that sounds suspicious. my fix may have led to other issues. if possible, send me the project that hangs (just the AEP, no big sources).
Eric: this is a beta to specifically address the caching issue.

I installed the beta today and had 3 hangs in about half an hour (Mac, CS6).  I had to force-quit.  It was a project I've been playing with for a week, never crashed before.  I reverted back to the older version of the plugin and didn't have any more problems for the rest of the day.
It's always possible that something else was causing the project to hang but I suspect it was the beta.  I haven't signed up to the Trapcode site to post there but let me know what other info would help.

This beta is specifically to address the problem where incorrect frames are stored in the cache in AE. That is, certain changes to Particular's settings do not cause re-renders of the affected frames earlier or later in time. Help me chase down this difficult bug! If you have run into this problem, download the beta and verify that it solves the problem in all cases.
