the Filter Gallery effects in PS are old old stuff, and as far as i know are not subpixel or time aware, so you might not want to use them for animation anyway. 

If you just want to use them on stills in AE but still have access to finetune filter parameters, you can apply the Filter Gallery effects on a Smart Layer in PS. Maybe one day we will even have Dynamic Link to Photoshop?...

A still image reference is using several filters in the Ps Filter Gallery. I’d like to get these exact same filters in AE.

When I try to replicate them in AE, they don’t look the same (at least not within the time I have for this), and I want to avoid rendering layers (AE > PS > AE).

Filter Gallery seems to be a Photoshop specific plugin unfortunately. These effects cannot shared between the 2 applications or have I missed something?
