I wouldn't recommend AE's raytraced curved surface, IMO it previews and renders too slowly.
If you own Element3d, I often use imported sets (from 3dsMax) and use a pre-comp of the screen as a custom texture layer on it. Or I do it directly in 3dsMax. I have only used C4D light a few times, but I think it could easily handle it.
