MacHeist is promotion that takes place once a year where smaller independent software publishers offer their apps into a bundle. You can pay a nominal fee to buy the bundle saving a large amount. Or you can play the game and solve puzzles to earn and unlock additional apps. The games have gotten more and more complex over the past couple of years and have begun to use an iPhone app as the hub for the heist. If you have the time it can be pretty good fun solving the puzzles. But it's just easier to plunk down $40 and buy the bundle. A portion of the proceeds go to charities and its a good opportunity for smaller publishers to get some publicity
Sent from the ubiquitous Apple communication device I like to call Boris. Hence the brevity and poor spelling. Richard,
What is MacHeist? From the look of their web site it appears to be an iPhone game!? Very creative site theirs, but very difficult to know what they're all about -- even when using their ABOUT tab. Where did you see "Hype"? -g
Sorry for OT but the list seems kind of quiet anyway! Just thought I'd post about the latest Macheist as it has at least one gem in there IMHO. I used Hype to rebuild my whole website last year and I'm a big fan so I think it's well worth $20 for that alone. I'm not a web guy at all but it makes it very easy to create a nice, dynamic html5 site. I hear Limbo is good too, if you're into games.
Cheers Rich
