Or use wave world and caustics. Or= a combination. If you just need a top-down view for a texture then you might get away wi= th those techniques. If you need interaction with the AE camera, or a di= fferent 3D camera view, then a 3rd party plugin is your only real option.= You can try using form if you're a masochist but it's difficult to get = realistic water, if you need realism. Personally I really like playing around with wave work and caustics, but = it can be tricky to get the look just right. You really need several lay= ers of bump maps working together.
