If you just need a top-down view for a texture then you might get away with those techniques.=A0 If you need interaction with the AE camera, or a different 3D camera view, then a 3rd party plugin is your only real option.=A0 You can try using form if you're a masochist but it's difficult to get realistic water, if you need realism. Personally I really like playing around with wave work and caustics, but it can be tricky to get the look just right.=A0 You really need several layers of bump maps working together.=A0 I've got a tutorial on using them together to wave a flag, but if you replaced the flag texture with a water texture you'd have something the start with: =20 http://provideocoalition.com/czwar/video/waving-a-flag-in-after-effects =20 -Chris =20 -----Original Message----- From: Lou Wirth [mailto:loutv@mindspring.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 18, 2014 10:45 AM To: 'After Effects Mail List' Subject: [AE] generate water in AE =20 Hi Is there a way to generate water in AE other than Tsunami?=A0 I have it but oddly enough I can't seem to generate a "Tsunami".=A0 I need to cover the earth with a giant wave and so it needs to be a sphere.=A0 Any ideas? =20 Thanks Lou Lou Wirth Productions 500Tamal Plaza, Suite 522 Corte Madera, CA 94925 www.louwirth.com 415-924-9411p +---End of message---+ To unsubscribe send any message to =20 =20 =20 +---End of message---+ To unsubscribe send any message to
