Sounds great & exactly what I was looking for thank.

(By the way I am also looking for a script that will allow me to extend a pre-comped layer (for example a 5 second long pre-comp to a new longer length (let’s say 10 seconds) and all the comps and layers underneath it to be extended to this new length (10 seconds) automatically. I looked for it but couldn’t find a script that does exactly that.) Have you got a name for a script that does that?)

Immigration can import an entire hierarchy of sequences and recreate the hierarchy in the AE project panel. It is very powerful and simple to use. The main reason I created it is because it is a very common workflow to have sequences in subfolders. Immigration will help you import them but more importantly it will also help you batch replace them when there are new versions. Check out the demo video.

Import Folder just imports the elements inside the folder and does not sequence them.

if you want AE to import a folder as sequence you could drag the folders from the Windows explorer/Finder

to your project window and it will import its content as a sequence.

it does not recognize sub-folders so you need to drag the bottom hierarchy of folders but you could choose as many as you like.
