Have you done any test flights.  I just found this. The guy says it's bad but not sure he is in to what we are.  Looks pretty decent if you ask me.  Other than not the best quality but then hopefully if you are using a drone, it's intended to be a "drone" character.

This has lots of trackable features.

Actually this second one is beautiful.  I think Mocha has the feature now to address GoPro footage.

Depends on the camera being used. Drone recorded footage is VERY shaky, unless stabilized via a camera rig, not a post process. If a GoPro or CMOS chip camera is used, then rolling shutter becomes a huge issue. Given how intense a drone shakes, you can end up with a very warbled image that makes proper 3D tracking impossible. It's like tracking a funhouse mirror, no object is a reliable track point due to the constant rolling shutter warping. Clean stable image = clean post work.

Helle people,

I will start a exciting motion tracking assignment in a week.

The footage will be shot by a Drone. We will film a large open field where
there eventually be 3D buildings.

So some motion tracking and some 3D work.

Would the 3D camera tracker inside of AE be sufficient or should I try an other one?

And do I need tracker markers on the field?

I am new at this and every tip is very welcome.

Cheers,
Anthony
