As Chris mentions, drone footage can produce motion b= lur (or undesirable camera motion). First you will probably want to stabiliz= e/smooth your footage.

Most likely markers are not needed for aerial footage= and most of the 3D trackers will be able to handle basic moves.

Since this is your first 3D project, I would recommen= d relatively simple moves. You can run into issues with full 360 rotations, e= tc.

Lastly, the 3D camera solver module found in mocha AE= v3 & mocha Pro v3 was designed as an alternative to feature based 3D tr= ackers and excels on out of focus or blurred footage. It does not "replace" S= yntheyes or PFtrack for feature depth, but may be an easier to learn workflow for newer users. =

There is a 15 day trial to help you test it out and h= ere are some tutorials: http://www.imagineersystems.com/videos?tagFilter=3D3D+Camera+Solve+Module&am= p;sortBy=3DNewest

Helle people,

I will start a exciting motion tracking assignment in a week.

The footage will be shot by a Drone. We will film a large open field where there eventually be 3D buildings.

So some motion tracking and some 3D work.

Would the 3D camera tracker inside of AE be sufficient or should I try an ot= her one?

And do I need tracker markers on the field?

I am new at this and every tip is very welcome.

Cheers,
Anthony
