I am not sure if that's what you meant John,
but when you said "turn frame blending and to best quality" it seems you're referring to the layer switch and not the frame blending mode in the plugin.

turning on frame blending switch for the layer and using time warp effect will actually duplicate the frame blending which can cause unwanted/unnecessary results.
there is a built in frame blending option in the plugin itself (not the layer switch).

my apologies if I misunderstood your advice.

Well, despite the route, turned out pretty darn good.  I love the initial shot as it slows down over the building.  Which brings to my attention, I don't think I've ever used timewarp. 

 

How is timewarp used and how is it different than time remapping or slowing down using other methods?

Then took that exported clip into Ae for the Timewarp….forgetting that I’d made the clip 23.97, I rendered out of Ae as 29.97. Then took it back to Pr for the final edit and exported as 720p 23.97.  Not exactly the cleanest route! But the footage held up. Exported timewarped piece from Ae with Frame Blend highest quality switched on. Was only planning to show it to co-workers who consider the drone “John’s toy thingy,” but then this discussion came up so decided to share it on YouTube.

Short compilation of drone shots. Note a bit of yawing problem in the second two scenes. I inadvertantly had the transmitter switched to Course Lock. Seemed to be fighting me. Or, it was the little bit of wind. Not sure yet. First shot flying over the Lifetime Activities Center did not have the yawing. All shots color and sharpness corrected and default Warp Stablized in Pr.  First scene flying over the LAC has Timewarp speed changes in Ae.

Eric,

7 months ago I got that same Phantom package from B&H. You’ll love the GPS mode of flying. An R/C hobbyist in my private life, I’ve flown mostly aircraft (sailplanes and electrics). As you’ll find from flying helicopters/quadcopter in simulators like RealFlight, they are a handful!! Orientation is critical and getting mixed up on the controls will put you on the ground in pieces super fast.  GPS mode adds a LOT of stability to your flying and makes it so you can’t get disoriented and slip the Phantom into the ground. Home Lock/Course Lock modes offer their advantages too.
