The way I remember it, XSI was meant to replace MAX one d= ay because at the time MAX was really in shambles and seemed to have unresolva= ble issues that didn't allow it to evolve as would have been necessary. As it t= urned out, AD turned the tide and changed their plans. Anyway, there have long be= en rumours that they were heavily reworking Maya down to the underlying nodal architecture and if you add 1 and 1 together, that may be happening now wit= h not only Naiad/Bifr=C3=B6st, but on a more general level by inheriting some of = what ICE was in XSI. That is doubtful.
