Also, all the finalists in the recent British Animation Awards (tv commercials) did their work in Softimage. Similarly, both silver and gold award winners in the 3d animation category at this year=E2=80=99s British Television Advertising Craft awards were Softimage companies. Softimage definitely had a larger presence in Europe and especially Japan. Softimage scaled well and really shone in small to mid-sized outfits since it was full featured out of the box. It is truly a sad thing to see such a capable tool get swept away. One in which many of us have invested decades to master. There is a furor going on over on the Softimage list and many company owners are speaking up about it. I personally have lost what little respect I had for Autodesk and am looking to move onto some other company's offering once I have to leave Softimage.
