What do folks typically use the encoder for? I haven't tried opening files in encoder because frankly, I didn't know its use really. Also for all - It's not an specific file and seems very random. One file may work once, then not again or one that didn't import the first time may do so on a second try. Have you tried transcoding one clip to alternative settings (in= AE, Prelude or Adobe Media Encoder) that are good for editing (switch form= ats, change codecs, etc.) and tested that in Premiere Pro?
