I haven't used one of these myself, mind you.. but I've had a few clients over the past year or two who use these in retail and convention/trade show environments to just load up and let run all day. Apparently they're super easy to use. As a big-box store goes.. you probably don't want to deal with any physical media that could be swapped out or removed, or even just wear out over time.. keeping it all digital will keep the issues to a minimum, allow for packing the device in smaller enclosed areas, (i don't think it has any heat issues at all) and going with a larger company like Brightsign, will give the retailer peace of mind and warranty back-up... They could probably also get a pretty good deal if they contacted BrightSign's sales team and asked for a bulk order..
