Oh, I'm a techy. :)

From my perspective, not sure I see any reason to keep both CS6 and CC loaded though.

Appreciate the how to link though.

Yep! Me, too-- totally doable on PC. Tutorial here (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/278262-mklink-create-use-links-windows.html) for how to make links in Windows, however it's very much a techy thing; if you're not comfortable with what you're looking at, it's probably better to copy+paste the old fashion way :)

Eric-- the benefit of an alias/junction/link/shortcut/etc is that it's live; you update one location, and it works everywhere.

A more extreme use of this would be to have a directory on a cloud service (such as Dropbox) in which you have a folder each for your presets, plugins, scripts/scriptUI, and link the Dropbox folders to each of these. That way, all of your extensions are pre-synced on all your computers, and you only need to update one spot to have the same tools available everywhere. Pair this with linking the ModifiedWorkspaces/OriginalUserWorkspaces folders for AE (a bit more hidden and rather clunky/not 100% effective), and even your workspaces would be synced up everywhere.

If anyone's done this more advanced/more adeptly, would love to read a guide (though this is getting fairly OT for this thread).

No problem.  I will just do the copy - no need for an alias..

Yes, I'm on a PC.

Appreciate it.

In Mac OSX, Command-option-drag an item to create an "alias" of it -
which is a small file that points to the original.  For example,
double-clicking on an alias will open the original.  Your question makes
me think you are on PC, with which I have no experience.  Lots of other
people on this list can help, though. Bueller?
