Peter,

If you want to do 3D inside of AE and need a program that will really take advantage of the new Mac Pro, have your client get version 8 of ProAnimator.  It is absolutely real-time 3D rendering with final quality DOF, Ambient Occlusion, shadows, normal mapping and light beams, and near-real time (and still improving) with ray trace inter-object reflections and refractions.

The new Mac Pro is more than 3 times faster for GPU final renders and almost twice as fast as our other machines in our ray trace timing tests.  As a point of reference we have a test scene of a car with over a million polys which renders faster than real time in GPU Open GL rendering and does a full ray trace of a 1920 x 1080 frame at about 2 seconds per frame.

Version 8 is in beta at the moment and will be shipping within a few weeks.

Best,
Zax

Hello Guys and Girls,

my client just purchased a Mac Pro with a Mac Pro graphics card. To my surprise
After Effects CC doesnt recognise the graphics card and hence I cant accelerate
my ray traced 3D projects.

Any ideas on how to resolve this??

Thank you
Peter
