Turns out, I'm 90% positive that this full crash to restart on rendering was a problem with AE preferences. I was having no problems rendering in the new windows user profile on the same machine until I imported the old preferences from the "problem" user profile. Went to render, and again it crashed immediately, blue screen of death, reboot, everything. I thought I was having crazy hardware problems. Then I took the original clean prefs from the new user, imported them back into the problem user profile, and now it's fixed. This may have been a result of inheriting prefs from 12.0 to 12.1 to 12.2. So I'd be careful about doing that in the future. will submit a BR -TG On Thu, Apr 17, 2014 at 1:56 PM, Teddy Gage wrote: > no this was a BSOD on windows 7, so it wouldn't have had time. it sucks > but shit happens. my own fault. no this was a BSOD on windows 7, so it wouldn't have had t= ime. it sucks but shit happens. my own fault. It's a recurring problem = I've nailed down to either a driver conflict error or something in AE t= hat doesn't like some piece of hardware or running service.

- The BSOD says "BAD POOL HEADER" - probably from = some software trying to address the same piece of memory address space twic= e

- I don't get any crash logs

- it only happens when trying to render in AE. I thought it was = the overclock or a RAM issue but prime95 running at full load for 8 hours s= eems to have proved otherwise

- When I reinstalled= AE CC it worked fine again for a while, then it just started again

- I created a new windows user profile and so far rende= ring seems fine in the new profile, but I will have to reconfigure a lot of= stuff

- gonna run chkdsk and memtest86 overnight = to make sure there's no hardware issues

- backed up all critical drives anyway

Any other bright ideas welcome. for now I'm working on m= y backup machine
