Not a virus, I don’t think. Sometimes I have to scroll far down to find it in my Activity monitor, but it is usually open. Also, if you don’t find it, try continuing the installation and see if the error occurs again… sometimes the process closes itself mid-install.
The other common culprit is AdobeCrashDaemon, and can be worse because several instances of the same process can be running.
I really wish Adobe would add a button to force-close all conflicting processes. It would certainly be a quicker method than having to open up Activity Monitor or Task Manager and root around looking for random processes.
