However I am keen to establish a new colour grading workflow and soon all
our workstations will be upgraded to full CC suites.  I'll check out speed
grade and see how it works.
FWIW we are all on new iMacs with nVideo GTX 780m cards, I have no idea how
they go with Premiere.

Chris,
The GTX 780M probably has 4GB of GDDR5 RAM, and Premiere Pro will perform
very well on this card. 4GB used to be a lot, but even my new laptop, an HP
Zbook 17 has 8 GB of RAM on the GPU. I would think that 4GB is more than
enough, though, unless you're doing lots of layers and want real-time 4k
performance. :-)

Color Grading tools in Premiere are actually very good.
Download my free presets to get a quick start:

2-0/>

Then Read my chapter on Color Grading in Premiere:

Good luck! :-)
