Single File MXF !!!!!

folder based MXF is a F'ing nightmare to deal with. In fact I don't deal with it. First thing I do with MXF media is Clip Wrap it to single mov's. I can then media manage and do things like toss out bad shots, trim shots, ect. copying MXF clips from one folder into a new MXF folder isn't media management, its perpetuating the mess.  I have one project with 80gb of MXF media for 2 or 3 5 secs shots. I'd love to extract those shots and toss the other mess thats useless to me, but thats another story.

single file would mean I could name clips directly in OS and not stuck with Clip00001 buried in the MXF folder structure.

i didn't read all specs
but one feature i see that could be needed is some frame by frame text
that we could use to store standardly formatted data

perhaps xyz coordinates of some points,
to be used on playback time
(driving lighting or motion controlled rig or anything else )
and sound space information

and subtitles

Brendan,

Once you set up that kickstarter you need yo sell it everywhere you can.

Tech blogs, industry blogs and sites. Send an email to the content directors of them all and get them to write stories about them.

Post on relevant subreddits at reddit.com as well.
