You must you some k= ind of external monitor hardware that supports 10-bit via certain drivers f= or apps to see 10-bit on the Mac. Windows supports 10-bit via Quadro and ATI Fire cards. Of course you have t= o apps the display/output in 10-bit to see the advantages. Obviously , Win= dows can also work external 10-bit etc. with external monitoring. I have 10-bit working just fine and wish more apps fully supported it as it= is really nice. stephen van vuuren 336.202.4777 http://www.insaturnsrings.com/ http://www.sv2dcp.com/ http://www.sv2studios.com/ A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. Then again, I'm on PC, and my world may be very different from yours. But t= he DreamColor monitors sure can do 30-bit (10 per channel) color at differe= nt frame rates. If you feed 10-bit color to the DreamColor, and it's calibrated to Rec709 -= then Rec709 is what you see. I do this through DisplayPort.=20 On a Mac, or through HDMI, I'm not sure how that works.=20 /jarle From: Jim Curtis I have the HP DreamColor display, and it only goes into "Deep Color" =3D mo= de when fed a 60Hz signal thru DisplayPort or HDMI 1.2. The way you =3D ge= t it to play other frame rates (like 23.976) is to put a converter, =3D lik= e the AJA HDP2 between your video card's SDI out and the HDMI to =3D Displa= yport cable=3D85 and wondering what the analogous options are for =3D this = display. I also have a question about how Adobe Ae and Pr handle color spaces =3D wh= en using the computer's HDMI outputs without a converter box. If it's =3D = Full RGB, that's not very useful for broadcast work, right? +---End of message---+ To unsubscribe send any message to
