I've got 1 gigabyte movie poster - but only about 30 layers - that comes in just fine. I've not run into any Photoshop specific layers that won't come in but I have fairly typical levels, curves, blend modes and such, nothing exotic.
If it comes in as footage but not layers, then a layer is likely the problem. The other solution I've tried for Photoshop corruption is cutting and pasting the layers to new Photoshop doc.

A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what's behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.

Subject: [AE] Complex Photoshop File Hangs AE - Help
All,
I'm working on animating movie posters, so If often inherit incredibly complex 100+ layer photoshop files.
I have one now that I just cannot import into AE. It's 300MB file, but I've imported files 5 times that size before.
This one DOES have a dizzying amount of curves, levels, color fills and virtually every type of adjustment available. I've done my best to flatten as many sections as possible.
AE brings it in and I see the Comp and the folder, but then the black arrow cursor sits there with a white tip and doesn't change. A minute later I get the beach ball and have to force quit.
I've tried this with two different versions of AE on two different computers--same problem.
Is there some specific PS adjustment layer that is KNOWN to mess with AE?
I have 17GB allocated to AE, and cleared all the chaches and stuff.
