Why can't you just copy the position of your source la= yer and paste it into your target layer's position?

hold down shift key while y= ou parent with the pick whip or dropdown

layer snaps to = the parent=A0

where is that command?

=A0 =A0 This is s= omething that still slows me down. Say for example I have a long fly-throug= h and need to build out a new section. To create a new layer in the zone of= 3D space I'm in, I usually duplicate another layer close by and then d= rag it to the desired position. Then I'll alt-drag the new asset to the= duplicated layer, so that it is replaced with the new footage.=A0=A0The ni= ce thing is that the layer comes in with all proper switches and effects. B= ut there are lots of problems with this=A0method, like if it's a shape = layer (with no source) or has different dimensions.

So instead, I have recently been setting this up with Sure T= arget 2 rigs. I'll duplicate the most recent target null (used as the c= amera focal point) and then copy the anchor point position and orientation = from the null to the new layer. But I still have to select the layer, type = P then Shift-R to get position and orientation, copy the keys and paste to = new layer.

Is there a faster way to do this I'm not thinking o= f? by parenting / unparenting -> zeroing transforms like in C4D?
