I have had this happen many man= y times over the years. i had reported it in the past but i have never been= able to nail down why or when it stops.

You find out wh= en AE crashes and you go back to find the last autosave and there hasnt bee= n one for hours

Scott, please ask your coworker to submit a = detailed bug report so that we can figure out why it's failing for him:

That is not a bug that I'm aware of, but= I'll look into it.

=C2=A0

BTW, Auto-save should only be thought of as = an emergency mechanism for folks who haven't learned good work habits y= et. A much better way to work in After Effects is to turn Auto-save off and use the Increment And Save command frequently= . This way, you have complete control of when the safety save is occurring,= and there is no limit to the number of versions of the project that can be= saved in this way.

Just had a coworker realize that his autosave was n= ot functioning correctly.

While Adobe states:

=C2=A0

"=C2=A0When the number of versions saved reaches the maximum you specify, the Auto-Sav= e feature overwrites them starting with the oldest file.=E2=80=9D=C2=A0

=C2=A0

That was not the case here. =C2=A0When he reached his limit it just stopped, it= did not continue by overwriting the oldest one. =C2=A0Is this a known issu= e? =C2=A0I=C2=A0have since asked him to bump up the limit to something more= than the default.

Thanks=C2=A0
