I keep a 23" inch screen in Toronto which I hook my laptop to = when I get in. That enables me to travel back and forth lightly -- not = like the old days when I used to have to schlep big honkin' CRT monitors = and a tower back and forth. My MBP is razor = sharp without it -- one of the best screens I've seen and sharper than = my iMac's I would say, but that's probably because it's a much smaller = screen. I have never had a laptop or any sort of portable computer, my home = machine has been an iMac for the past 10years. My current imac has just = died and I'm now thinking about replacing it with a MacBook Pro and a = big monitor. In the past I have worked from home considerably but currently I do very = little work from home, and so having a powerful desktop machine seems a = bit old fashioned. The portability of a MacBook versus an iMac is very = appealing. Storage is not an issue because I already use an external = storage system anyway. Any thoughts on the pros/cons of working with AE on a laptop- = specifically a retina MacBook Pro - versus an iMac? - Chris=20 Sent from my iPhone= --Apple-Mail-5-997180342 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii A little late to the party on = this thread, but I work half the year on an  iMac when I'm in town, = and half the year on my MBP when I'm in Toronto.  I keep a 23" inch = screen in Toronto which I hook my laptop to when I get in.  That = enables me to travel back and forth lightly -- not like the old days = when I used to have to schlep big honkin' CRT monitors and a tower back = and forth.  I much prefer the iMac because of the 27" monitor and = the additional ports and the fact that I can use dual monitors of equal = size and placement.
